Australian Skipper Meg Lanning Aims At Gold In Commonwealth Games
Australia women's skipper Meg Lanning on Thursday stated that the goal of her team is to undoubtedly win the gold medal in the women's T20 cricket event at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, to be held from July 29 to August 7 at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
The 2022 edition of the Commonwealth Games will be the first-time cricket will be part of the event since the men's 50-over matches in the 1998 edition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Though there is no men's cricket, the women's matches are there and will be played in the T20 format, with them being granted T20I status too.
