Joe Root Breaks Sachin Tendulkar's Record As He Completes 10,000 Test Runs; Achieves An Unique Feat
Ace England batter Joe Root scored a fabulous match-winning century on the 4th day of the 1st test match against New Zealand at Lord's and scripted history. The 77th over of the second innings, being bowled by Tim Southee, Root ran for a double on the third deliveri and brought up his 26th test century along with completing 10,000 test runs. The former captain faced 170 deliveries and with the help of 12 fours, scored an unbeaten 115 runs and guided England to a 5-wicket victory.
Joe Root has now become the 14th player ever to register 10,000 runs in international tests and England's second player to do so. Only former captain Alastair Cook was able to achieve this feat for England prior to this.
