Hopefully We Can Recreate Winning The World Cup Moment For The People In Our Country, Says KL Rahul
India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul recalled the moment when MS Dhoni hit the winning six in the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka to give the hosts’ their second ODI World Cup title, saying he hopes for recreating it through the upcoming 2023 edition.
“I was in Bangalore and watching the games with a few friends. I remember when we lost two quick wickets, all of us thought the game was gone. Later, when we won, we ended up driving to the busiest area in Bangalore and it was a scene, everyone was jumping and celebrating. It was a proud moment for all of us as Indians and hopefully, we can recreate it for the people in our country,” said Rahul to JioCinema.
